“I never hesitated to take part. In fact, I was waiting for the government invitation when I was almost 30. It’s just nice to know that all is well. Really reassuring. When I got the call, I discussed it in my group of friends. Almost all my girlfriends take part. We understand the importance of taking part. How you take part is up to you. I went to the doctor for a smear test, I don’t mind that kind of thing. The fact that there is now a self-test can really help lower the threshold though. You can do that at home, in your own safe environment. It would be nice if this persuaded more women to join in. Because early detection can prevent a whole lot of trouble. I’d say: Just do it! It can only help you.”
