‘I think it is important to take part because this way you can catch it at an early stage. If they find anything, the chances of a less severe treatment with a good outcome are a lot higher. I myself decided to take part because I had some symptoms after my period. For me, the smear test at the GP felt like the right choice. I didn’t hesitate but it helps to talk about it with friends. Because everyone has a different experience. Although the wait for the results was nerve wrecking, I found the examination itself not too bad. Fortunately, I got a good result and felt a burden off my shoulders. I will definitely take part again at my next invitation because if I were to get a bad result, I caught it early.
